Our 5-levels concept will provide all you need in terms of dance skills, repertoire and general forró knowledge to reach your full potential as a dancer. The beginners and intermediate levels will provide you all the repertoire and skills you need to be able to have an enjoyable dance with any forrózeir@. The intermediate +/ advanced levels are all about developing your own dance, as well as learning essential skills to create and explore possibilities in your body, and together with your partner.
All you need to get it going in a forró party.
Here you’ll dive into the world of forró with enthusiasm and excitement. You’ll learn the basic steps, fundamental techniques, and the importance of connection with your dance partner. This levels focus on building a strong foundation that will set the stage for your forró journey. No previous dance experience is required in order to take part in the beginner level. The beginner level consists of one module of content: Weight transfer.
Now that you’ve got the basics down, it’s time to refine your partner dance techniques.
Beginner + introduces more intricate repertoire, and styling elements. You’ll continue to work on your connection with your partner and gain confidence in your dance, all while having a great time on the dance floor. The focus of this unit is to make communication more effective during dance, as well as to expand the skills and repertoire of the beginner level. The beginner + level consists of four modules of content: Downbeat, Arm flow, Connection (Xote) and Body posture
*At the end of the Beginner + level, you are ready for your first Forrócheck.
Adapting your dance will never feel so easy.
In this level, you’ll delve deeper into the art of connection, allowing you to communicate effortlessly with your partner on the dance floor to the music. Emphasis will be placed on musicality, timing, and control.
This level will provide the necessary skills to adjust your dance to the several musical subgenres of forró and specific musicalities.
The intermediate level consists of four modules of content: Rhythm & Musicality, Paulista, Frame, and 5 step concept.
*At the end of the Intermediate level, you are ready for your second Forrócheck.
In this level, you’ll develop complex patterns and combinations out of key figure in forró.
This way you’ll expand your creative mind – as a leader, and follower, while sthrenghenting the tequnique of more complex figures.
This level will provide you the precision to react to musical patterns in a creative way with endless possibilities.
The intermediate + level does not have a finite number of modules and consists so far of four modules of content:
Sacada, Trava, Caminhada, Push-Pull
