🕣 20:30–21:30 | W2 (Beg.+ / Int.) – First Roots sequence & figures.
24 August – Improving your Roots
🕢 19:30–20:30 | W3 (Int. / Int.+) – New movements & combinations.
🕣 20:30–21:30 | W4 (Int.+ / Adv.) – Advanced figures & musicality.

Workshop 1: Roots Fundamentals
- Posture and frame
- Weight transfer
- Basic Roots steps
- Basic displacements
- Connection, embrace, and rhythm
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of Forró.
Workshop 2: Roots Fundamentals II
Build the first sequence (routine) by learning the initial characteristic Roots figures, focusing on body posture, frame, connection, and repetition.
Routine 1: A progressive sequence practiced in every class, with new movements and skills added each session to steadily improve your dancing.
Prerequisites: A solid foundation in forró, good connection and weight transfer, and the ability to perform Caminhadas.
Workshop 3: Improving your Roots
Review the Routine and introduction of new movements:
- Push-Pull (complete movement)
- Sacadas
- Paulista turns
- Additional figure (according to the group’s progress)
Prerequisites: Completion of the Roots Fundamentals block or equivalent experience. Participants should have a solid foundation in Roots-style forró and be able to perform caminhadas, travas, turns, and sacadas with confidence.
Workshop 4: Excel your Roots
Review of the sequence and expansion of the repertoire:
- Arraste
- Sacada with Pescada
- Trocadilho
- Practice of the complete routine with a focus on musicality, flow, and connection.
Prerequisites: Completion of the Roots Fundamentals block or equivalent experience. Participants should have a solid foundation in Roots-style forró, an excellent frame, strong sense of rhythm, and be able to perform caminhadas, travas, turns, and sacadas confidently.
